More from the Paragon Studios archives: scrapped playstyle Illustrations for CITY OF HEROES FREEDOM. These were designed to accompany the UI that helps players choose their character type in the very beginning of the game. In the end, we shipped with more realistic, painted images (also drawn by me--you can find them in my gallery), but I finished an entire set of six drawn in a comic book style, and we might have shipped with them if the artistic direction hadn't shifted midway through.
Though I like these drawings, I'm glad we went with the more painted, serious style in the end.

Still missing CoH.

I can see reasoning behind CoH team's choice as realistic painted style were more in vibe with their game.
And suddenly I want to watch a CoH Animated Movie featuring those characters somehow.
@David, On the art, I think my favorite bit is the grin on that guy getting buffed by the support character. Heh, I had several friends who were addicted to defenders and I was a scrapper/brute and I had that grin myself very often.
