The Rocketboard is a cool new travel power that players can purchase in CITY OF HEROES. Originally, we were calling it the "hoverboard" internally, but since it can fly in essentially any direction, "rocketboard" seemed more apt.

I designed it with a sort of surfboard/hotrod flair on the top, and a combination of repulsion pads and mini-jet engines on the bottom. Fun!

It's the handiest thing you can buy from the ingame store...I have a toon who actually doesn't have fly..she just rides and when she gets over a mob, hops off and bombs away!

I really do love this power. It's easier to have characters with no powers get around in a faster, more convenient manner. Also, it just looks awesome! It kinda feels like you're "air surfing" while riding around. (I may or may not have pretended I was surfing while going between TF missions....) I can't wait to get the carpet!

I especially love my board because when I finally managed to buy it, it went on sale the next day. When I went to the Game Staff, they was really nice and reimbursed the difference in points! (It was literally 12 hours later when the carpet was released....) So I feel it makes my board extra special.
