If you're about my age, then you probably have fond memories of the X-MEN: The Animated Series that ran on Fox Kids in the 90s. Lasting 76 episodes (second only to Batman: TAS) it was Marvel's longest running animated show and brought a number of famous X-storylines to the small screen, including The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. I was a big fan, and I remember being BEYOND excited when that first episode came on.

So imagine my surprise and delight when I was asked to provide box art for the DVD release(!). I got into comics specifically because of Jim Lee's legendary work on Uncanny X-men, and THIS was the team I grew up with. So my cover art is intended as a love letter to these characters, and honestly, I'm just excited to watch these cartoons again!

I did--Disney was nice enough to send me a couples of each DVD set that I did the boxart for. :)

When they first hit the shelf I fell in love with the box art and the embossed foil finish on the cover sleeves made them a "must have" for my DVD collection. I about had a heart attack when I went back to get them and they were GONE. Not sold out just pulled off the shelf and GONE. Finally got the set from Amazon.com ... (and there was happiness in the land).

LOVED the way that Disney packaged them--made my art look better than it ever has. Glad you were able to hunt down copies before they were all gone! :D
